Class 4 Summer
Welcome to Class 4!
During the Summer Term, our topic was ‘Through the Ages’.
In history, we learnt about how the Stone Age to Bronze Age period impacted on life in Britain. The children learnt about how early men survived in such harsh environments, why Skara Brae was important for understanding life in the Stone Age, how copper mining was crucial to the Bronze Age and why Stonehenge was built. As well as this, the children learnt about why Iron Age people developed hillforts and how important Druids were in Iron Age Britain.
In English, we studied the amazing book, ‘Stone Age Boy’ by Satoshi Kitamura.
We also used the description of the 'Iron Man' to create a huge sculpture.
In design and technology, we learnt where and how a variety of ingredients grow. They then learnt how to cook with it; following recipes and using different kitchen equipment.
We were delighted to welcome Rob Hammond from Lincs FM into our class to share our knowledge.
We hope you enjoy looking at our work and finding out what we have been doing!
