Spring Term
This term, our topic is Extreme Earth. We will be learning all about Earthquakes and Volcanoes and the impact of natural disasters around the world. We are looking forward to our visit to Magna Science Adventure Centre to support our learning.
In English we will be studying the novel Running Wild by Michael Morpurgo.
This term, our topic is the Ancient Maya. We will be exploring this fascinating Central American civilisation and finding out all about their unique culture and way of life.
In English, our learning will be linked to Middleworld by J&P Voelkel. We’ll follow the adventures of Max Murphy and his Maya friend Lola as they travel through the Middleworld on a mission to rescue Max’s parents.
We enjoyed playing a trading game to learn about how the Ancient Maya used to barter for the materials they could not find for themselves.
We learnt how to stay safe on the roads during our Bikeabilty training.
In science, we learnt about electricity. We used circuit symbols, learnt the difference between voltage and current and carried out lots of investigations.
In music, we enjoyed our whole class ukulele lessons.
Lots of us were lucky enough to go on our residential visit to PGL. We had an amazing time!
Recently, we had a very informative workshop about where chocolate comes from linked to our learning on the Anciemt Maya.
