Welcome to Class 1! Our exciting topic for this term is ‘Our Wonderful World’. As part of our learning for this topic we shall be: growing plants in our outdoor area, exploring the work of Van Gogh and reading a range of non-fiction books about transport. We will also be observing summer and discussing our transition into the next year group.

In our Literacy and English lessons we shall be developing our sentence writing by creating postcards and letters.

In Maths we shall continue with our number work as well as explore fractions and sharing.

It’s going to be such an interesting term!

Wow! What an exciting term we have had in Class 1! The children have worked very hard and it has been lovely to see their learning develop.

We started the year by learning about pirates. We enjoyed making flags using different materials. We also explored drawing on the laptops.

We have also been naming the worlds continents and oceans. We were able to identify hot and cold climates.

In our Literacy and English lessons we read Traditional Tales like ‘The Little Red Hen’. We then followed recipes and made our own bread rolls.

When the weather got slightly warmer, we went hunting for signs of spring in our outdoor area. We then painted some spring pictures.

Well done Class 1 on another great term. I look forward to the next one!

Wow! What an exciting first term we have had in Class 1. The children have settled into school life so well, especially our newest members of the class.

We have enjoyed getting to know each other and exploring the provision. We have been making lots of different things like London landmarks and Elmer. We have also enjoyed solving lots of Maths challenges in our outdoor area.

The children also did a brilliant job with our Harvest assembly and Nativity. I was very proud of them.

Well done Class 1 on a great first term.  I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful work you will do next term....
