Welcome to Class 2 Homepage
Welcome to Class 2, our topic this term will be ‘Splendid Skies’.
As part of our topic introduction, we will be taking a ‘Nature’s Treasures’ walk to search for seasonal changes. We will collect items such as buds, dried leaves, sticks, acorns and other natural objects to explore and discuss back in our classroom. During this topic we will be exploring an exciting range of activities such as observing changes that occur over the four seasons, designing and making our own kites to investigate wind speeds, drawing aerial maps, as well as investigating shadows and making our own sun catchers!
In English we will be writing recounts, postcards, non-chronological reports, lists and instructions as well as reading weather themed poems such as ‘Who Has Seen The Wind?’ by Christina Rossetti. This term our role play area has been transformed into a weather station. Here the children will be able to dress up as weather presenters using the provided props as well as having access to the iPads to film their own weather reports.
In Maths we will be continuing to look at place value of numbers up to 100. We will be solving missing number problems as well as applying our 2s and 10s times tables knowledge to addition and subtraction sums.
